Global footwear and accessories company ALDO has moved to automate its IT operations with the aim of making them more efficient. The firm has selected TCS’s cognitive automation solution – ignio – to act as the foundation upon which the digital transformation process will rest.

Administered through Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) California-based Digitate division, ignio is a comprehensive enterprise IT automation platform that leverages the latest in artificial intelligence to help organisations with their digital transformation goals. The platform comes under the broad domain of cognitive automation.

Implementing ignio offers a number of benefits to organisations, given its capacity to predict and subsequently prevent IT outages in good time, and further identify the root cause of such an outage within a matter of minutes. This is done through the linking of the seemingly various and dispersed operations of a company onto a single business application.

Such an integrative approach allows for a single web of fundamental IT infrastructure, which can be used to generate smart automated responses. Ignio is one of many products that has earned TCS a name as a market leader in Software Product Engineering, among a number of other accolades in recent times. ALDO to leverage TCS product to automate its IT infrastructureThis comprehensive platform will now be used by the global footwear giant ALDO Group, as they look to hop on the digital bandwagon and simplify their operations through the automation of their fundamental IT infrastructure. The firm aims to utilise the boost in operations to deploy new digital-based services.

“It is a major priority for the ALDO Group to move all of our services to a digital platform, and ensure a high level of resilience and agility. In recent years, as our business has expanded, our systems have become ever more complex. As such, ignio will help us to simplify the management of these systems, giving us greater efficiency and control over critical aspects of our IT operations,” said Dominic D’Amata, Vice President of Architecture, Governance and Infrastructure at ALDO.

Pratik Pal, President of Retail and CPG at TCS added, “TCS has developed algorithmic retailing solutions to help businesses become agile, proactive and efficient. We are pleased to extend our partnership with the ALDO Group and enable ignio cognitive power to drive ALDO Group growth and digital transformation as they move forward in their Business 4.0 digital transformation journey.”

Meanwhile, Chief Commercial Officer at Digitate Akhilesh Tripathi said, “ignio™ is increasingly being recognized for its unique ability to solve critical enterprise IT operations problems. We apply artificial intelligence to significantly improve existing processes. It's an area that has not seen much widespread innovation in the last few years, and our customers are extremely excited about what we can do for them.”

The project represents yet another major contract for TCS’ US operations, which are growing at a staggering rate. In recent months, the firm was named the 58th most valuable brand in the US by London-based valuation firm Brand Finance.
