Infosys acquires Fluido, boosts international Salesforce capabilities
Infosys has become the latest firm in India to bolster its Salesforce capabilities, through the acquisition of Espoo-based consulting firm Fluido. Infosys has reportedly paid €65 million for the Salesforce consultancy, which is widely regarded amongst the leading CRM consultancies in the Nordic states.
Fluido was founded in Finland in 2009, conceptualised as a customer relationship management (CRM) specialist firm. Since then the firm has expanded rapidly with respect to both its reach and its scope of operations. Geographically, the firm has expanded beyond its Espoo headquarters to have offices in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Banska Bystrica.
Operationally, the firm has extended beyond its focus on CRM to incorporate services in cloud computing, operations management, services management, marketing, applications development, and customer experience. Perhaps the most pertinent feature of the firm's operations is its offering in the Salesforce domain – the world’s largest CRM platform.
Fluido’s experience in the Salesforce domain is among the primary factors that informed Infosys’ decision to acquire the company for €65 million. Infosys has had a singular agenda in recent months – to reorient its operations to further incorporate services in the digital transformation domain.
To this end, the firm has not only devised a comprehensive three-year strategy, but also recently linked the performance evaluation of its top management to the firm’s overall revenue generation from digital services. Services in the Salesforce segment are rapidly becoming a major segment within digital services in India.
As the cloud computing market in India expands, a number of major IT services firms are ramping up their Salesforce capabilities, exemplified by a strategic acquisition from Cognizant in recent weeks. In addition to boosting its Salesforce capabilities, the acquisition of Fluido will also give Infosys a foothold in the Nordic countries – a relatively untapped market for the firm.
Commenting on the acquisition, President & Deputy Chief Operational Officer at Infosys Ravi Kumar said, “Fluido will be an important addition to the Infosys family, bringing a unique combination of market presence, deep salesforce expertise, agile delivery and training which, combined with our existing capabilities, will help companies reimagine and transform their businesses. This acquisition also aligns with our efforts to invest in local capabilities in the regions in which we operate.”
Founder & CEO at Fluido, Kai Makela added, “With Infosys, we will now be able to provide truly global scalable services, while maintaining a close relationship with our customers. Both the scale and breadth of Infosys’ portfolio of offerings, broad industry expertise and enterprise cloud adoption is an exciting opportunity for Fluido customers and our people.”
