Wipro named top quality strategic supplier by automotive group Visteon
Indian IT services giant Wipro has been recognised as one of the best suppliers in terms of quality and service by global cockpit electronics firm Visteon Corporation. The title was bestowed upon Wipro at the Strategic Supplier Conference held by Visteon in Michigan last month.
The recognition comes at a time when the firm appears to be recovering from a period of stagnation and subsequent restructuring. Much like most other IT services firms, Wipro has recently been struggling with the wave of digital disruption that has made its traditional suit of service obsolete.
As Industry 4.0 technology increasingly permeates the business world, demands from IT services firms have evolved from the traditional establishment and maintenance of IT infrastructure to the integration and implementation of Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other such digital enhancements.
After a brief struggle that caused a dip in revenues, Wipro has engaged itself in comprehensive efforts to expand its capacity in the digital services domain. Alongside investments and acquisitions, the strategy has comprised international partnerships to increase capacity.
This strategy has now begun to pay dividends, both in monetary terms as otherwise. The firm surprised most experts by posting substantial profits in the first financial quarter of this year, and has now been recognised for the outstanding quality of its products and services by Visteon.
Visteon is a US-based technology firm that specialises in cockpit electronics and other automotive solutions. At The Automotive Hall of Fame held by Visteon earlier – attended by representatives from 60 suppliers of Visteon – the firm recognised Wipro as a Best Quality Supplier for the reliability and quality of its service and delivery.
