Indian on-demand mobility giant Ola has jointly appointed marketing consultancy Indigo Consulting and advertising and marketing agency Leo Burnett Orchard to help promote its brand profile across the Indian market, specifically in terms of brand management and content strategy.

The firms won the contract following a competitive process from a number of interested consulting firms. Alongside the task of maintaining Ola’s brand image across the country, the duo of firms is also expected to leverage the latest in digital advancement to optimise Ola’s communications profile.

Previously, Ola’s creative branding has been managed by Bangalore-based marketing and advertising agency Happy mcgarrybowen, and has gained tremendous success as a transportation solution to rival Uber. The new marketing agengy Indigo Consulting is one that is rapidly gaining business in India.

Indigo Consulting was founded in 2000, and offers a wide suite of services including website design, mobile marketing, web analytics, search engine optimisation, among a range of others. The firm has formed partnerships with a number of high profile firms last year to help develop digital marketing capabilities.

In March last year, the firm won a contract with global cosmetics firm Garnier to support its e-commerce ventures, while in May the firm was selected by learning outsourcing firm NIIT to be a digital partner and help with the brand transformation. Since November last year, the firm’s creative operations have been managed by Prasanna Kulkarni.

Leo Burnett, on the other hand, has also been recording success in India, with its Mumbai outlet being named the 2018 Agency of the Year. Both firms will be tasked with designing branding profiles in an increasingly digitalising economy, where digital advertising is set to become one of the biggest sectors.

Commenting on the partnership, Anand Subramanian, Senior Director of Marketing Communications at Ola said, “We look forward to this partnership with Leo Burnett Orchard in our mission to build mobility for a billion people. Over the past eight years, the Ola brand has evolved to become one of the world’s largest mobility platforms, impacting the lives millions of customers and partners alike. We are confident that this new partnership will help resonate the brand’s voice amongst Ola’s 150 million+ users and beyond.”

“Ola is a home-grown brand that has now become a global force in mobility. Very few brands can take pride in the deep impact they create, like Ola would, on its entire ecosystem of consumers, partners and cities at large. We look forward to building a strategically sound platform for the brand that will help cement its leadership position,” added Prashanth Challapalli, COO of Leo Burnett Orchard India.
