Global professional services firm EY has announced a strategic partnership with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) specialists Blue Prism in India to offer RPA as a service to clients across the country. The duo’s services will be administered on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Based in London, Blue Prism is a firm with a global profile that offers services in the RPA domain. The firm develops software that allows clients to automate basic, rule-based, administrative functions that have traditionally been performed manually, thereby reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

EY will now leverage this software to offer RPA as a service to clients across India. The Big Four accounting and advisory firm has been monitoring the wave of automation in India closely, and has proclaimed in the past that automation of a growing number of functions is likely to create a new breed of jobs that requires working in collaboration with machines.

As an increasing number of firms in India are displaying a propensity to leverage Industry 4.0 technology, the duo will find itself in an expansive market characterised by high demand for its services. The platform of choice to disseminate the services is the Microsoft Azure cloud service.EY and Blue Prism partner to offer RPA services in IndiaThe demand for such services is already manifesting itself, given that EY and Blue Prism have already collaborated to deliver on-site RPA solutions to a number of major clients. Specifically, the firms have focused on enhancing efficiency in core as well as support functions across businesses.

Clients of the duo so far hail from the financial services, IT services, manufacturing and healthcare sectors, all of which are undergoing a wave of digitalisation in India. Through the joint delivery, EY has earned platinum certification status in the domain of delivery from Blue Prism.

EY has also been awarded Gold certification for its capabilities, becoming the first firm to hold both certifications. The decision to offer services based on the cloud domain is also motivated by a broad trend in the Indian market – the rapid expansion of the cloud market.

“In today’s dynamic marketplace, open and secure cloud based offerings along with agile methods of delivery are fundamental to the growth and profitability of businesses. As a market first, EY’s globally acclaimed RPA delivery capability coupled with Blue Prism’s cutting-edge technology and Microsoft Azure cloud will enable organisations in their digital transformation journey, rendering greater speed and scalability to the pace of deployment and innovation,” said Sibjyoti Basu Partner and Alliance Leader for EY India.
