Indian IT services giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been recognised for the diversity of its workforce in the United States, having been named amongst the top 50 companies in the country for diversity. The rankings were compiled for 2019 by US- based publication DiversityInc.

The firm’s profile in the US has been expanding rapidly in recent years, exemplified by its high-profile contract with Transamerica last year, which was worth approximately $2 billion. Over the last half decade, TCS has created over 20,000 jobs in the US, and part of the firm’s charm appears to be in the diversity of its workforce. In its pan – American operations, TCS employs individuals from as many as 70 different nationalities, nearly 30% of which are women.

This diverse profile is apparently not an accident, given the firm’s active engagements with various other organisations to promote a more equal and diverse workplace.
