Sri Lankan apparel solutions firm Brandix has tapped Accenture to support a comprehensive overhaul of its operations. The management consultancy is expected to deliver innovative enhancements to Brandix’s manufacturing, supply chain, finance and human resources operations.

Specific improvements that the firm will look to enable include productivity enhancement, a shift to data-based analytics and the integration of internet of things. These changes will come in addition to supervising an overhaul of the apparel firm’s end-to-end processes and operations.

Brandix is based in Sri Lanka, and operates with manufacturing units that stretch across India and Bangladesh as well. The company is more than four decades old, and has developed a substantial customer base across the global apparel market, through its specialisation in innovative apparel distribution.

Consistent with trends across the globe, Brandix is looking to transform its organisation to align it better with demands in the contemporary market. Accenture is among the leading consulting firms to support with this, given its emphasis on digital evolution as a ticket to global competitiveness.

Accenture India to help Brandix with increasing digital engagement

The firm has been rapidly developing its own capabilities in the digital sphere, with the objective of supporting an increasing share of clients across the Indian market with digital transformations. As a result, Accenture has begun to offer robust competition to the largest IT services firms across India.

Commenting on the new partnership, Brandix’s Group CEO Ashroff Omar said, “I’m confident that this collaboration will help us achieve new avenues of growth not only in Sri Lanka but at the global scale. This is in line with our overall strategic decision to develop the apparel ecosystem and create a future-ready, global organization for the digital era.”

Manish Sharma, Group Operating Officer at Accenture added: “We look forward to continuing our ongoing collaboration with Brandix – which began in 2013 – to transform its processes leveraging our global expertise in data science, analytics, consulting, strategy and operations. Together, we will work toward significantly enhancing the company’s top-line growth and bottom-line savings in the next six years.”

Anindya Basu, a Senior Managing Director at Accenture India, pointed at the need for any retailer to adapt to the changing market. “The retail industry is being redefined globally by consumer expectations, digital technologies and transformative business models. To create value in this highly competitive environment, apparel manufacturers need to embed technology-led innovation not only at the edges of systems but also within their core processes.”
