Arun Thukral joins Praxis as a leader in Financial Services arm

Arun Thukral has joined management consulting firm Praxis Global Alliance as a leader in its financial services practice.

Appointed a partner, Thukral brings three decades of experience in financial services to the firm, most of which was gained at Axis Securities and Axis Bank. Most recently, he was the chief executive officer of Axis Securities, where he led the firm’s financial lending solutions to retail customers and broking and investment services. Under his reins, Axis Securities managed to establish itself amongst the top brokerage houses in India.

Before that, Thukral held various leadership roles across broking, retail lending, wealth management and treasury at Axis Bank , including Senior Vice President Treasury, and Vice President of Wealth Advisory and previously Corporate Banking. 

Commenting on his move into consulting and for Praxis, Thukral said: “I find the practitioner-led consulting model of Praxis is unique and powerful, and synergistic with the high-quality work done and the track record of its leadership team. I am looking forward to working with the team to provide clients with transformational solutions.” 

Thukral will lead the asset management and capital markets segments within the Financial Services practice, which works for major banks, insurance companies, asset and wealth managers, pension funds, fintechs and regulators in India and the region. He will spearhead offerings including strategy, customer engagement, digital transformation, operational excellence and organisational effectiveness.

Commenting on the high-profile appointment, Shishir Mankad, the Head of Financial Services at Praxis Global Alliance said: “Arun’s proven leadership skills in running large organisations and vast experience across financial services domains and in broking and financial planning are a prized addition to our capabilities. Thukral’s appointment was also welcomed by Madhur Singhal, the firm’s Managing Director, who stated that the firm has set the ambition to grow its financial services practice. “Arun’s rich experience of over three decades will no doubt be very valuable.” 

The move comes shortly after another industry veteran hire. In June, Praxis appointed former Hindware chief information officer Vipul Anand as Head of its HiTech IT and Tech practice.

The home grown Indian consultancy founded in 2017 has offices in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Both Thukral and Anand are based in the firm’s New Delhi locale.
