US state Utah appoints IndiJo Consulting as India representative
Looking to rebuild its profile as a tourist destination, the US state of Utah’s Office of Tourism has appointed Mumbai-based travel & tourism consultancy IndiJo Consulting to cultivate its reputation in India.
Utah Office of Tourism official Rachel Bremer pointed out that Indian visitors to Utah spent as much as $9 million last year alone, which makes tourism from India a crucial economic channel. Under the circumstances, the more this channel can be cultivated the better.
“Considering the impacts 2020 will have on visitation and our tourism economy as we look ahead to 2021, it is important that we not only expand our brand awareness but also forge partnerships and develop product to support tourism industry recovery and growth,” said Bremer.
“We are pleased to announce that IndiJo Consulting will be representing Utah,” she added. As part of the agreement, IndiJo consulting will broadly be responsible for the Utah Tourism Office’s sales, marketing and public relations functions in India. In specific terms, this translates into a wide array of services, including organising webinars, trade trainings, co-op promotions, social media initiatives, product development support and media relations.
The firm will leverage Utah’s notable landscapes and nature to generate appeal within India’s vibrant travel and tourism sector. Utah is home to the Mighty 5 national parks in the US – Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion. This is in addition to seven national forests and 44 state parks.
“We are extremely honoured and excited to represent Utah. A destination with outstanding tourism offerings that we believe has the potential to attract many Indian visitors. Indian travel trade and travellers looking for high quality unique travel experiences, will just love Utah,” said Joseph Fernandes, CEO at IndiJo Consulting.
Fernandes launched IndiJo just last year, entering a competitive arena of travel & tourism consultancies in India. A travel sector veteran, Fernandes has previously worked at Air Sahara for a decade, and had a brief spell at Air Deccan. For more than 15 years, Fernandes was at global tourism representation giant Aviareps, where he ended his spell as General Manager for India.
IndiJo Consulting boasts a team of professionals similar to Fernandes in their travel & tourism experience, with a dynamic, modern, innovative and tech savvy approach to consulting.
