FTI Consulting promotes Prasanto Roy to Managing Director
Three and a half years after joining FTI Consulting, Prasanto Roy has been promoted to Managing Director.
Following an extensive career in executive communications, public advocacy and corporate reputation, Prasanto Roy joined FTI Consulting in August 2018 as a Senior Director in its Strategic Communications division.
Following a run of successful engagements for clients in India and beyond, Roy has now made the step up to Managing Director – FTI Consulting’s equivalent to partner at private-held consultancies.
From the firm’s base in Delhi, Roy helps clients on topics including public policy, communications around market growth and new policy developments, and corporate reputation. He focuses on clients in the technology, fintech, energy and sustainability domains.
“Global clients and senior management teams seek our counsel as multi-disciplinary advisors who possess a sound understanding of global business issues and frame them to solve business problems. We congratulate Prasanto on his well-deserved promotion,” said Amrit Singh Deo, a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications division at FTI Consulting.
Prior to joining the global consulting firm, Roy was Vice President at the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), India’s IT services trade association, heading its domestic market and internet and ecommerce council activities. He has worked closely with industry and government on policy, market development and growth, and other issues.
Before that, Roy was a technology editor for two decades, and president and chief editor at CyberMedia, India’s largest technology publishers, for over ten years. He has written for BBC, India Today, Al-Jazeera, Hindustan Times, and Indian newspapers; and has appeared as a tech expert on shows for BBC, NDTV other TV and radio programs.
In India, FTI Consulting (a $2.8 billion company globally) operates from offices in Mumbai and New Delhi.
