FTI Consulting appoints Amit Pathare senior advisor in energy practice
FTI Consulting has expanded its network of Senior Advisors in India with Amit Pathare, who affiliates with the firm’s energy practice.
Amit Pathare brings three decades of experience to the role, gained both in industry as well as in management consulting.
With years of experience under his belt at large consulting firms such as Aon, PA Consulting, Strategy& and PwC, Pathare currently runs his independent energy consulting firm, advising clients in India, Singapore and Europe on topics including energy decarbonisation, renewables, green hydrogen, and smart grids.
In between his consulting years, Pathare held several leadership roles in industry. During his ten years at Engie, he latterly was Group Director of New Solutions, and Director of ENGIE's Programme for Cities – a position that gave him a seat in Engie’s top management team.
At FTI Consulting, Pathare will work with the firm’s multidisciplinary energy transition teams, across the Economic Consulting and Strategic Communications segments, advising clients on energy transition, decarbonisation strategies and green hydrogen commercialisation.
One of the world’s leading energy consultancies, FTI Consulting offers clients services from strategy and economic modelling, through to transaction support and ESG due diligence, to the delivery of change, improvement and communications programmes.
In India, FTI Consulting is most known in the energy space for its role in the hydrogen domain – the US-origin consulting firm represents the India Hydrogen Alliance industry body, acting as expert consultant and secretariat.
Speaking on his appointment, Pathare said, “Energy transition is going to be challenging without coordinated actions by private and public actors and requires an integrated understanding of technologies, markets, regulatory policy and business models. I am delighted to work with clients of FTI Consulting, advising them on decarbonisation pathways.”
Pathare is co-based in India, France and Singapore, and will focus on projects both in Asia and Europe – as well as cooperative initiatives across both continents.
“India-EU collaboration on clean energy and finance has been increasing steadily at a government and industry level, and we are well placed to take energy transition learnings from Europe to India,” he said.
Amrit Singh Deo, a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, said, “We have a multidisciplinary, cross-practice team in India, working with clients on energy transition challenges and net-zero pathways. Amit’s expertise on energy techno-economics and public policy will be part of our proposition to develop cleaner alternatives for energy and industrial systems in India, as we help build a better, greener economic recovery.”
