Astral Consulting celebrates 25 years in business

Astral Consulting, a consulting firm based in Coimbatore, celebrates 25 years in business this year. Since its founding, the firm has grown into a global profile, serving clients across Dubai, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brazil, Singapore, Russia and Taiwan.

Founded in 1992 in the city of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Astral Consulting is a financial advisory firm offering services in management advisory, internal audits, information systems, and training among other segments. Since its establishment, the public company has grown to operate with more than 100 employees across a number of countries, with an authorised share capital of Rs. 500,000. 

The firm was founded by C N Srivatsan, a Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor with over 30 years of experience in the consulting industry. Having begun his professional career in 1982, Srivatsan has accumulated experience in the fields of Information Technology, Strategy Development, Business Process Re-engineering, Systems Operations Audits, and Cost-control strategies.

In November, Srivatsan celebrated 25 years since the establishment of the consulting firm. The occasion was marked with a party, which included a range of cultural festivities. Among the acts was a lecture on Business Practices from Ancient Scriptures by renowned spiritual and cultural speaker Dushyant Sridhar.

The occasion was also marked by the launch of a ‘single window’ initiative, which would provide a single platform for access to more than 70 services offered by the firm. Over its 25 years in existence, the firm has expanded in tandem with the growing business and management consulting market in India. Currently the firm operates all across India, providing services in over 40 locations through its partnered offices, as well in key international markets.

While Srivatsan now occupies the role of Chairman at the firm, Birala Balamurali, M Muthukumar, and D Purushotham are all directors at Astral. Commenting on the milestone, Purushotham said, “we were the first firm from Coimbatore and one of the very few firms in India to focus entirely on internal audit, first to start a BPO - way back in the early 90s - one of the few firms to focus on Information Systems and Security and probably, the first audit firm to get an ISO certification in Coimbatore.”
