BCG partners Akhilesh Sahu and Bharat Garg join Alvarez & Marsal
After eight years at Boson Consulting Group, partners Akhilesh Sahu and Bharat Garg have crossed to Alvarez & Marsal where they have joined the firm’s leadership team.
A managing director in New Delhi, Akhilesh Sahu has over 16 years of experience in the industrial and consumer goods sectors. He has worked with clients in building materials, cement, electricals, consumer durables, small domestic appliances, commercial and passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, packaged foods amongst others.
Sahu helps middle and large-sized organizations with services including growth strategy, consumer insights, product innovation, new business development, go-to-market acceleration, customer experience enhancement and digital transformation.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Sahu was a partner with the Boston Consulting Group in the Industrial Goods and Marketing and Sales & Pricing practices. His notable assignments included developing portfolio strategy for India’s largest business conglomerate, building and launching an appliances business for an electricals company and executing a business carve-out for a leading commercial vehicle player.
Sahu also led programs on enhancing customer experience for a premium motorcycle company and driving sales acceleration across cement and passenger vehicle sectors.
Earlier in his career, he worked for professional services groups Accenture, Aon, and Publicis Sapient.
A Managing Director in Mumbai, Bharat Garg specializes in large-scale change and performance improvement, focusing on end-to-end transformation, margin improvement, corporate strategy formulation, go-to-market excellence and organization design. At Alvarez & Marsal, he is a member of the Business Transformation Services team.
Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Garg served strategy firm Boston Consulting Group in Mumbai, climbing the ranks from project leader to partner. Previously, he worked with consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble.
Throughout his career, Garg advised numerous companies in the apparel, consumer goods, home furnishings and direct-to-consumer sectors with strategic programs and business transformations. He also worked with organisations in the government, automotive, construction and retail sectors.
