Deloitte books 30% growth in India to race past Rs 10K crore revenue barrier

Deloitte has booked strong growth in India over the past year, seeing the firm race past the Rs 10K crore barrier – making it the second Big Four firm to surpass the magical revenue milestone.

In its latest financial year, Deloitte enjoyed a dazzling 30% growth rate, driven by growth across its business, with management consulting and technology consulting its star performers. Its other areas of expertise including audit, accounting, financial advisory, tax, and legal.

“We disrupted the marketplace in 2023-24 with Rs 10,000 crore revenue. Our aim is to become the undisputed leader in professional services, distinguished by our quality, brand, well-being, and scale. Success for us is to be a kind-hearted, high performing and innovative firm,” said Romal Shetty, CEO for South Asia at Deloitte.

Deloitte now has around 120,000 people working in India, with Shetty highlighting that the India arm contributed 10% to the company’s growth in global revenue (which rose by 3.6% to $67.2 billion), and 70% to Asia Pacific’s growth.

Achieving its bold goal

Looking ahead, Shetty said that Deloitte has the bold plan to become India’s largest Big Four firm. Based on the latest available figures, that top spot is currently held by EY, with Deloitte in second place.

“We want to become the undisputed leader in professional services,” said Shetty. “We want Deloitte’s revenues in India to be Rs 20,000 crore by 2027 and $5 billion by 2030.” Achieving that would mean quadrupling the current business.

To reach the ambitious target, Deloitte is pursuing a number of investments and focusing on expanding its offerings. The company is also investing heavily in technology, both internally to drive productivity improvements, as well as externally, such as beefing up its digital transformation offerings.

Deloitte is further focused on expanding into India’s tier II cities to grow its presence and access new talent.
