Simon-Kucher expands presence in India with new office in Bangalore
Global consultancy firm Simon-Kucher has announced the launch of its new office in Bangalore.
After years of serving clients in India, Simon-Kucher has now established a dedicated office and local team in Bangalore, the capital and largest city of the southern state of Karnataka.
Jan Weiser, Partner and Co-Head for Asia Pacific, said that the move marks a significant milestone in the firm’s global expansion strategy, which recently received a refresh and earmarked Asia Pacific as one of the three key growth regions alongside North America and the Middle East.
“The Asia-Pacific region is a strategic priority for Simon-Kucher, and the opening of our Bangalore office underscores our long-term commitment to this vibrant market,” Weiser stated.
From its base in Bangalore, Simon-Kucher will help clients nationwide with services around its four main lines of business: commercial strategy, growth, sales & marketing, and pricing. Globally, Simon-Kucher ranks among the leaders in these fields, and the firm will now rapidly seek to emulate that track record in the local market.
“India is a key market for Simon-Kucher, offering immense potential for innovation and growth,” said Amit Kumar, who has been re-hired by the firm to setup and lead the Indian business.
Kumar previously spent two years with Simon-Kucher in its US business, and also brings over a decade of advisory experience at PwC and Boston Consulting Group. Most recently, he served as Head of Business Consulting and Advisory Partnerships at Amazon Web Services.
“Our new Bangalore office will be a hub for helping clients achieve sustainable growth and seize emerging opportunities. I am excited to lead the India business as we expand our footprint and deepen our impact,” Kumar said.
Weiser noted that Simon-Kucher has handed Kumar an “ambitious growth target” for the coming three years, without disclosing further details. “Under Amit’s leadership, we look forward to supporting our clients with transformative strategies that unlock better growth.”
Headquartered in Germany, where the company was founded 40 years ago, Simon-Kucher has more than 2,000 staff. Its other Asia Pacific offices are based in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
