Alvarez & Marsal appoints Himanshu Bajaj as Co-Leader of India business
Alvarez & Marsal has hired ex-Kearney executive Kearney Himanshu Bajaj to co-lead its India business alongside fellow managing director Vikram Utamsingh.
Himanshu Bajaj brings more than 20 years of consulting and business experience to the global consulting firm. He most recently served for two years as CEO of Byju’s Tuition Centre, and before that he spent sixteen years at Kearney. There, he was a senior partner and Asia Head of the Consumer and Retail practice.
Bajaj advises clients, across all verticals, on driving large-scale business transformations through accelerating business growth and enhancing profitability. He has led multiple engagements including operational transformations, end-to-end value enhancements, along with sales and marketing optimization strategies, such as go-to-market and trade efficiency improvements.
Commenting on his move to Alvarez & Marsal, Bajaj said: “The firm’s operational heritage combined with its breadth of offerings, including corporate finance and restructuring, financial due diligence and disputes and investigations, is a key differentiator in the consulting market. Alvarez & Marsal’s mix of industry operators and career consultants provide the springboard for driving growth and maximizing value.”
In his role, he will work closely together with Vikram Utamsingh to drive Alvarez & Marsal’s next growth chapter in India. Late last year, the firm announced its ambition to double the number of India-based senior team over the next 24 months.
“We are growing our firm in India to meet a high level of demand and expanding our transformation and digital capabilities across sectors,” said Utamsingh. “I am delighted to welcome Himanshu and look forward to jointly leading our India business.”
Bryan Marsal, Alvarez & Marsal’s CEO and Co-founder, added: “Himanshu’s appointment demonstrates the firm’s continued commitment to investing in people, achieving scale and positioning for growth in support of clients in India. Our expanding talent base and offerings in the country is aligned to the next phase of our global strategic growth plan.”
