Akshita Summan returns to PwC India as Director
Akshita Summan has been appointed Director at PwC India, returning to the professional services firm after more than two years at PepsiCo.
In her new role at PwC India, Summan works across people strategy, organisational capability, leadership development and transformation.
Her remit also takes in organisation effectiveness, AI capability building, and culture and change. This combination reflects where demand in Indian workforce advisory is currently concentrated, with the more established disciplines of performance management and leadership development now sitting alongside briefs to build artificial intelligence skills inside client organisations.
Summan returns to the firm from the client side. She spent more than two years at PepsiCo, where she worked across People Strategy, Capability and Performance Management, and Capability Development and Inclusion – the in-house counterpart to much of the advisory work she now picks up again.
Before that she was with EY’s People Advisory Services. There her work covered performance management, compensation restructuring, digital learning, talent capability development, and culture and change initiatives. Between the two spells she has therefore built and delivered people programmes as both consultant and buyer.
Her sector experience spans FMCG, automotive, IT, pharmaceuticals, metals and mining, and the public sector. That breadth lines up with the range of clients PwC India serves from its people and organisation practice, where consulting on workforce capability increasingly runs together with the firm’s work on artificial intelligence.
