Anarock Property Consultants, a prominent real estate consulting firm in India, has launched a new ‘Channel Partners’ vertical to explore its collaborative potential, and has appointed former National Director at JLL Bappaditya Basu to lead the new initiative.

In a country with over a billion people, it is safe to say that demand for real estate services remains steadily high. Nevertheless, the real estate market in India has seen a wave of diversification in recent times, moving beyond the residential and commercial space to serve the rapidly expanding hospitality and retail industries as well.

As a result, real estate consultancies in India have gravitated towards the more financially lucrative markets, leaving the residential real estate segment neglected to some extent. Anarock Property Consultants is a brand new residential business, brokering & advisory firm that is looking to plug this gap.

The firm was founded last year in Mumbai, and currently employs more than 1,300 professionals, operating in eight key financial centres across the country in addition to an international presence in Dubai. Alongside its focus on the residential real estate domain, the firm also delves into the investment sphere, supporting its clients with debt, equity, and mezzanine funding.

Now, as Anarock looks to establish its roots in India’s business environment, the firm has set up a Channel Partners vertical, which will work towards building collaborative relationships with other firms in the real estate space, both in India and across the world. Ambitious in its approach, the firm hopes to build India’s largest real estate services network. The new vertical will select only RERA-compliant partners, and is expected to bolster the firm’s sales reach by as much as 40%.

Bappaditya Basu, Director - Anarock

To drive these new plans, the firm has called in the services of Bappaditya Basu, who has worked in the real estate space for over a decade and a half. Basu has an academic background in Aeronautics, and subsequently marketing, and began his professional career as a Trainee Engineer at Indian flight company Air India (currently in the process of divesting).

Basu then worked for less than a year as a sales officer at Standard Chartered Bank in Mumbai, before making his first foray into the real estate space in 2003. Basu joined real estate professional services firm JLL India, where he remained for fifteen years until March of this year, ascending to the position of National Director for Retail Services.

In his new role, Basu will be based in Anarock’s Mumbai office, and will lead a team of Channel Partner specialists for his task. In addition, he will be responsible for the establishment of new Anarock offices in Navi Mumbai and Ahmedabad, which are expected to be key markets for the firm in the future.

Commenting on Basu’s appointment, Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said, “This is an important appointment, given Anarocks' unique business services model and our rapid growth plans. Through its leading CP alliances, the Firm will offer developers the widest-possible channel spectrum across domestic and international markets. Apart from his massive experience, Bappaditya's exemplary industry relationships and strong reputation for speedy, everyone-wins business generation will come fully into play here.”

Basu himself added, “We will lose no time in building scale by aggregating global channel partners under our roof while leveraging Anarock's expertise in real estate technology. There has been a distinct lack of focus on the residential sector among Indian real estate consultancies, and we are filling this gap for Indian developers as well as consumers. I look forward to working Anarock's highly competent professionals in bringing together leading channel partners from across the globe to scale up our residential business and bringing the best investment options in India and beyond to our customers.”
