EY supports new Advanced Data Science Programme launched by IMT CDL
The Institute of Management Technology Centre for Distance learning (IMT CDL) has added a new dimension to its IMT Online module, having launched a new Post-Graduate programme in the Advanced Data Science domain. The nine-month programme will be supported by global professional services firm EY.
The new programme reflects broader trends within the Indian market vis-à-vis the global economy, given that the country is set to become a major contributor to global talent in advanced analytics. Jobs such as Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Engineer are set to become crucial in any sector over the next few years.
India has a considerable talent pool in this area, and is looking to further develop it to consolidate its value in the global economy. IMT CDL’s latest initiative has been developed with this objective in mind, and Big Four accounting and advisory firm EY is supporting with the talent development process.
Consultants from EY will offer training and expertise throughout the duration of the 9 month, 192-hour programme. Academics in the data analytics field will also offer training for the course, which will take place live and online. The training modules will focus on in-depth advanced analytic skills.
In addition, the programme will cover other Industry 4.0 areas such as familiarity with artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning and a number of other fields. The post-graduate programme is looking to develop talent in the digital sphere, something that EY recognises the necessity for.
The firm has released analysis in recent years that predicts that one in ten jobs over the next five years is likely to require entirely novel skills, as the nature of jobs evolves to demand working in collaboration with machines, AI and other technological applications.
