Parle Products taps IBM's consultants for data transformation
Having worked with IBM on a large-scale technology program, IBM’s consultants are now stepping in at Parle Products to further support the company’s data-driven ambition and ensure change management processes are in place.
Founded in 1929, Parle Products is one of India’s larger food processing companies (revenue: $2 billion), best known for the biscuit brand Parle-G. Other well-known brands are: Happy Happy, Hide & Seek, Krackjack, and Melody.
Around nine years ago, Parle Products first brought IBM on board as its technology partner. Since then, numerous programs and collaborations have been kicked off, including SAP implementation projects, a cloud project, a process re-engineering project in the procurement function, and most recently, a cloud transformation.
Reflecting on the near decade-long cooperation, the CIO of Parle Products, Sanjay Joshi, said: “Our collaboration with IBM, leveraging both its technology expertise and consulting capabilities, has been paved with multiple milestones, all of which has helped us achieve our digital transformation vision.”
Continuing the collaboration, Parle Products has now asked IBM Consulting to support a data transformation. Leveraging the power of data, as well as advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, Parle Products wants to inject data-driven ways of working across its decision-making processes at all levels.
IBM Consulting’s mandate includes implementing the Azure Databricks Lakehouse, an AI engine for Auto Replenishment, and SAP Ariba solutions. In addition, IBM Consulting will ensure the organisation is equipped to work with the new solutions through training and capability transfer. The firm will also oversee the change management process.
“This project will provide our business functions with data driven insights and help them take critical decisions,” said Joshi.
Kamal Singhani, Country Managing Partner of IBM Consulting in India, said: “Today, leveraging exponential technologies like cloud and artificial intelligence are fundamental to every company’s competitiveness by transforming the way that they meet customer demands and operate their businesses. We look forward to supporting Parle Products with realising this fundamental shift.”
