Talent specialist Mercer Mettl eyes international expansion
Talent assessment and management firm Mercer Mettl has entered a phase of expansion, revealing its intentions to spread its footprint into international markets. The Indian firm is specifically looking to offer talent solutions for markets in the Middle East, Indonesia, the US and Latin America.
The new phase of expansion will be supported by the new resources that have been injected in Mettl’s operations after it was acquired by global human resources consultancy Mercer late last year. The acquisition allowed Mercer to specialise in talent development, which is an increasingly demanding field in India and across the globe.
Businesses around the world are realising that people lie at the heart of organisational success, and that no business strategy can be successful without ensuring that talent is managed adequately. HR policies are crucial in this regard, which encompass talent management and development.
Firms are looking to transform their HR policies from linear and rigid structural functions to a more flexible approach that is aligned with contemporary market trends. Given its expansive, cloud-based suite of services, Mercer Mettl is ideally placed to support businesses with this transition.
The firm is grounded in the technological domain, endowed with an efficient cloud platform and a research-based analytical approach to delivering HR solutions. The digital focus lends the firm flexibility to customise its solutions for each client, at various stages of the HR lifecycle.
Starting from the screening stage, Mercer Mettl supports clients with optimising the skill-assessment, training as well as the employee development functions, all of which are increasingly essential. Over the last year, the firm has established a firm foothold in the Indian market, and is now looking to expand in scope and geographical reach.
Not only is the firm looking to enter the Middle East, Indonesia, US and Latin American markets, it is also looking to enhance its service offerings to include more learning & development functions, as well as leadership development. To back this expansion activity, the firm is also looking to scale up its data security and analytical capabilities, to align with data regulations across the globe. Mercer Mettl will also presumably be hiring to develop capacity to meet the upcoming demand.
Commenting on the expansion, CEO of Mercer Mettl Siddhartha Gupta said, “Our association with Mercer has opened up several valuable avenues for us to scale our operations on a global level. Already the leading talent assessment firm in India, we will now address the high demand for talent assessment, engagement, and development in the international markets through our offerings. We are planning to offer more diverse services beyond talent assessment including sourcing, screening, onboarding, training, and so on, by combining Mettl’s operational platform with Mercer’s advanced HR tech.”
