Local Leadership

Anish Sarkar - CEO
Anish is the India CEO for Mercer. He is overall responsible for the India business of Mercer, currently focussed on bringing global solutions and services to the local market and exploring strategic growth opportunities.

—Anish has over 18 years of experience in management consulting and information technology, with a strong focus on business building and transformation. Prior to joining Mercer, he was heading Capgemini’s Management Consulting practice in India, growing the business to a well-recognised consulting player in the market. During his long tenure with Capgemini, Anish has played a number of leadership roles across Consulting, Sales, Business Transformation and Technology.

—Anish holds a B.Tech. degree from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

Preeti Chandrashekhar - Business Leader, Retirement, Health and Benefits
Preeti has recently taken up the role as India Business Leader and is focusing on bringing the larger portfolio of Mercer’s solutions and services in this domain to Indian clients. She provides advisory and consulting services in rewards with special focus on designing and delivering solutions to help manage people and associated risks.

She brings over 25 years of management consulting experience in the Insurance/ retirement lines and other employee benefits. She joined the firm in June 2016. Her prior experience includes Life Insurance Corporation of India, Infosys Limited and Willis Towers Watson where she was the Consulting Leader of Employee Benefits (South India and Sri Lanka)

Preeti holds an M.Phil in Statistics from University of Delhi and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Actuaries of India. She is also a member of the Advisory Group for Pension, Other Employee Benefits and Social Security of the Institute.

Shanthi Naresh - Careers Business Leader, India
Shanthi has been with Mercer India for nine years and is currently the India Business Leader for the Careers line of business, which provides Talent Consulting and Information Services. Shanthi joined Mercer in 2008 to lead the Rewards Consulting practice for India, and took on the leadership of the Information Solutions business before becoming the leader of the combined consulting and information solutions offerings.

At Mercer, Shanthi has led some of the most complex projects in the areas of Careers and Rewards.

Shanthi has around 30 years of work experience, in HR roles in Industry and Consulting across three geographies – India, Singapore, and the USA. Prior to Mercer, Shanthi was at Sun Microsystems Inc, California, as a member of the HR Strategy organization which was a think tank for identifying futuristic HR practices in response to global business and macroeconomic changes.

Shanthi has a Masters degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. She also has a research degree in Organization Behavior from the National University of Singapore.
