Wipro and IBM team up to offer cloud solutions in India
Wipro India’s clients will now have access to innovative cloud solutions developed collaboratively by Wipro and IBM, following the announcement of a partnership between the two IT giants.
Solutions will be developed at a new Wipro IBM Novus Lounge in Bengaluru, which acts as an innovation centre. Leveraging IBM’s expertise, Wipro will develop customised hybrid cloud solutions for clients to help at various stages of the cloud integration process, be it migration, management or transformation. Security across the public and private cloud is among the key assurances.
Wipro will also deliver IBM Cloud solutions combined with its own service offerings, specifically for sectors such as banking & financial services, energy & utilities, retail, manufacturing and healthcare. Meanwhile, the partnership will extend beyond just the cloud technology space.
Cloud technology often acts as a gateway to digital transformation for businesses – a trend that has been driving rapid cloud adoption in India. The new Wipro IBM Novus Lounge lounge will act as a partner throughout this process. At the lounge, clients will have the chance to work with Wipro and IBM professionals to leverage the latest in artificial intelligence, machine learning and internet of things, depending on individual business needs.According to a statement, clients will have remote access to both IBM and Red Hat’s proprietary digital solutions, aimed at improving customer experience and overall agility using integrated insights.
Leadership of both firms have expressed their satisfaction with the new holistic offering.

The new partnership comes as Wipro enters a new phase of its development. The firm has been particularly hard hit by the Covid-19 crisis, and is now looking to restructure its operations to achieve a degree of efficiency. New leadership at the firm and a string of developments signal active efforts to this end.
IBM has a substantial presence in India, to the extent that it’s India headcount is the largest across its global practice. The firm will be looking to leverage this footprint to bolster the new offering in collaboration with Wipro.
