Srikumar Rao new global head of Wipro’s Engineering Edge business

Global technology services firm Wipro has appointed Srikumar Rao as Global Head of its Engineering Edge practice.

Based out of Bengaluru, Srikumar Rao will be responsible for Wipro’s engineering capabilities and solutions. “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead the firm’s Engineering Edge business, and I look forward to significantly broadening and strengthening our market presence. I have experienced immense pride in being a part of Wipro’s incredible transformation journey over the years, and I am delighted with this opportunity.”

Rao has been with Wipro for 26 years, during this time growing the ranks and holding a range of leadership roles. His work has spanned several markets, with a focus on engineering & research and development services to the software, technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, and telecom sectors.

Prior to stepping up, Rao was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Engineering Edge business and the Global Head of Embedded Systems.

Rao succeeds Harmeet Chauhan, who has announced he will soon leave Wipro to pursue an external opportunity. The two leaders will work together until early October to ensure a smooth transition.
