PwC named best healthcare consulting firm in India
The BW Businessworld Healthcare initiative brought together significant stakeholders to celebrate the best and brightest of the Health industry, at the fourth annual Healthcare Summit Awards. Consulting firm PwC picked up the prize for Best Consulting Organisation for Healthcare at the ceremony in New Delhi at the end of August.
The fourth edition of BW Businessworld Healthcare Summit and Awards saw industry leaders from across India converge on New Delhi, in order to deliberate and celebrate the future state of Indian healthcare. BW Businessworld is a premium business news magazine in India, and their Summit, which was held in association with India's fifth largest private sector bank – Yes Bank – is part of both companies’ commitment to recognise the best practices, innovative growth strategies, and new age solutions adopted by companies in the health sector. The day-long event therefore explored collaborations between the public and private sector, while discussing unified and innovative ways to achieve equitable, affordable and quality health services for all.
The function comprised of three parts: a conference for deliberation, an exposition for the display of new innovations in the industry, and an awards ceremony which rewarded the achievements of players in various segments of the healthcare ecosystem. In the ceremony, hosted at the Hyatt Regency building, the awards included categories such as best standalone hospital, best hospital chain, innovation in medical technology, healthcare insurance, digital solutions, and the best consultancy in the trade. The jury was subsequently comprised of experts from a plethora of specific industry segments, who met in advance to finalise the list of winners in all 16 categories, convening at BW Businessworld headquarters.
Sudhir Mishra, Chairman & Managing Partner with BW Businessworld, was the jury member chiefly representing legal advocates and consultants. “Our entire emphasis was to see that the healthcare sector gets a genuine recognition for the efforts companies are putting for patient care. While we talked about all the aspects that go into the making of the best healthcare structure, affordability was given a priority”, said Mishra.
Following a rigorous methodology to recognise the best practices in the industry, the jury deliberated on various aspects, which included customer satisfaction, technology, infrastructure, customer services, healthcare delivery services, affordability and accessibility, PwC India was named as the 'Best Consulting Organisation for Healthcare' in 2017.
The award was presented to the Indian wing of the Big Four consultancy by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State, Health and Family Welfare; C. Laxma Reddy, Health Minister, Telangana; and Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-In-Chief of BW Businessworld.
PwC, who were found to be the largest firm in the consulting industry earlier this year, meanwhile recently missed out on further silverware in the UK, at the 2017 HealthInvestor awards. The ceremony saw a host of professional services firms honoured for their efforts in the UK health sector. In the transactional consultants of the year category, CIL Management Consultants triumphed. The firm, who stated they were “thrilled” with the award, fought off competition from the likes of Connell Consulting, L.E.K and PwC to take home the prize.
