Wealth & asset management is a crucial part of the firm’s current suite of services, alongside financial advisory services, mutual funds and investment banking.
Anshuman Maheshwary will now run the wealth & asset management vertical as COO, bringing with him vast experience in a number of senior roles. Most notable of Maheshwary’s professional experience is the 18 years that he has spent at global management consultancy A.T. Kearney.
Until recently, he was a Partner at the firm, where his division covered a number of industries in the country, including oil & gas, utilities, chemicals, metals & minerals and a number of others. He also occasionally acted in an Ombudsman capacity for the firm’s global operation.

He now takes over as COO at IIFL, where he will work closely with CEO and Managing Director Karan Bhagat to develop business strategies and oversee their implementation. He is also expected to set organisational objectives to ensure alignment in the firm’s operations.
Commenting on his appointment, Maheshwary said, “I am extremely pleased to be part of this dynamic team. IIFL Wealth is at an exciting point in its development. I look forward to the new opportunities this role brings in spearheading innovative processes and technology across the group.”
“Anshuman’s deep expertise in strategy and business planning, will immensely benefit IIFL Wealth & Asset Management as we reinforce our capabilities to drive our performance and deliver our growth ambitions. His ability to implement large-scale organisation transformation and performance improvement will deliver tangible impact for our clients and employees,” added Bhagat.
Alongside tweaking its senior leadership, IIFL is also looking to boost its profile in the Indian market at present, most recently through a partnership with marketing and communications consultancy Pitchfork Partners. The firm was contracted to support IIFL with its strategic communications in India.
