Publicis Groupe appoints new Head of Data Science

Deepak Pant has been appointed the head of Data Science at Publicis Group in India, as the firm looks to bolster its presence in an expanding market. Pant’s responsibilities span functions of measurement, research, advanced analytics, and data strategy, among a range of others. 

Pant is an experienced professional with considerable expertise in the tech domain. A graduate of both the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Pant’s mix of a tech and finance background has set him up for a versatile career.

He has worked in the engineering space as a Senior Systems Engineer at Siemens Information Systems and as Engineering Manager at 3com. His first foray into the analytics space came when he joined the 4i Consulting Group in Chicago as a Manager for Analytics, tasked specifically with developing analytics based insights.

Pant has since worked at The Nielsen Company and at Cognizant as a Director for Advanced Analytics and AI & Analytics respectively, and will continue in the same vein for Publicis. The majority of Pant’s career has unfolded in the US, and he entered the vibrant Indian tech market in 2016 when he took up his role at Cognizant.

The market for advanced analytics in India is among the most prominent across the globe, and Pant’s task is now to establish Publicis Groupe as a leading brand in this landscape. Pant takes charge of a Data Science team of more than 100 professionals, who work across the various functional and industry verticals of Pubicis.

The Data Science department leverages Publicis’ capacity in marketing, media, digital and data to develop models for in-depth analytics. Pant is tasked with using this extensive machinery to develop a data strategy that incorporates factors of data integrity and automation to deliver solutions.

He is also in charge of Publicis People Cloud, an individual ID-fed platform that is designed specifically to facilitate a more effective marketing and decision making process. Pant will hope to drive the platform to its potential in an increasingly vibrant cloud market.
