Accenture has opened a third innovation hub in India, just weeks after opening its second one in February. The new innovation hub is situated in Pune, and will join the existing hubs in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

The global management consultancy has innovation hubs across the globe, where clients are given the space, resources and technical support to develop industry-specific solutions. Accenture’s tech experts are available in an advisory capacity, while hubs are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

In India, the firm had one innovation hub in Bengaluru since 2017 till the start of this year, but has since expanded its presence to include Hyderabad and now Pune. The Pune hub is the smallest of the lot with the capacity to house 1,200 professionals, compared to 2,000 in Hyderabad and 4,000 in Bengaluru.

The Hyderabad hub opened in recent weeks became Accenture’s first innovation hub across the Asia Pacific region to feature a Nano Lab to demonstrate the latest breakthroughs being made by Accenture Labs at a global scale. The Pune hub is now set to feature the second such Nano Lab.

The labs offer insight into the latest in artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality, quantum computing and other Industry 4.0 technologies. Alongside connecting clients with Accenture Labs experts across the globe, the Pune hub will specialise in delivering better customer experience through technology, an issue that is gaining significant traction across the globe.

“Technology innovations are accelerating competitive pressure on businesses across the globe. At Accenture, we are focused on assisting our clients in predicting and preparing for these changes by applying advanced technologies to shape their future,” said Bhaskar Ghosh, group chief executive of Accenture Technology Services.

“The new Innovation Hub in Pune will bring together the best of Accenture’s technology and innovation capabilities from around the world, empower our clients to scale their technology investments and increase their business outcomes across the firm, and create new opportunities for local talent,” he added.

Two new innovation hubs in a matter of weeks demonstrates a targeted drive to develop tech capabilities in the Indian market. India was recently voted the second most potentially disruptive tech market in the world behind the US an tied with China, and Accenture is looking to capitalise on this scenario.
