EY acquires the Indian practice of Christensen Advisory
Big Four firm EY has bolstered its Strategy & Transactions unit in India with the acquisition of the domestic practice of Christensen Advisory.
Announcing the transaction on LinkedIn, Amit Khandelwal, Managing Partner of EY’s Strategy & Transactions division in India, said: “We are delighted to significantly expand our Investor Relations practice by welcoming the India team of Christensen Advisory.”
“I warmly welcome Diwakar Pingle and all members of the Christensen Advisory team to the EY family.”
Headquartered in China, Christensen Advisory is a strategic communications consultancy specialised in investor and media relations to publicly listed and pre-IPO companies in the capital markets landscape. The firm focuses its services around three topics: corporate brand value creation, initial public offerings and mergers & acquisitions.
The India practice – Christensen Advisory also has offices in China (three offices) and the United States – has now joined EY and become part of the Investor Relations service line within Strategy & Transactions. The deal deepens EY’s already end-to-end offering around M&A and corporate value creation.
“This combination will add further depth and breadth to our service offerings and I am positive that our combined synergies and commitment to deliver exceptional client service will result in building a leading and best in class Investor Relations practice in India,” said Khandelwal.
“It’s been a wonderful 14 year ride with Christensen Advisory and the move is a continuation of the journey as the entire team in India has moved to EY,” said Diwakar Pingle, who led the local team and now is a partner at EY. Other members crossing to EY include Asha Gupta and Vikash Verma, who both have been appointed a Vice President.
EY and Christensen Advisory have not released a formal announcement on the transaction, keeping details on the size of the team transferring and financials in the dark. Christensen Advisory has meanwhile taken down the reference of its two offices in India (Mumbai and New Delhi) from its website.
Founded in 1982, Christensen Advisory has offices in China (three offices) and the United States. Established in 1989, EY is one of the globe’s largest professional services firms. In India, the accounting and consulting firm has around 60,000 employees.
