Accenture installs Ajay Vij and Sandeep Dutta at the top

Global consulting and technology firm Accenture has appointed Ajay Vij as Country Managing Director and Sandeep Dutta as the Market Unit Leader of its India business.

The pair of top leadership appointments come in sync with the news that the firm’s Chairperson in India, 20-year company veteran Rekha Menon, will step down per 30 June, 2023. Her primary responsibilities as Chairperson will following the transition be split between Ajay Vij and Sandeep Dutta.

Vij and Dutta have both been with Accenture for over 15 years. “Our entire Global Management Committee looks forward to working closely with Ajay and Sandeep to create significant value for our clients, people and communities in India and those clients we serve around the world,” said Leonardo Framil, Accenture’s CEO for Growth Markets.

As Country Managing Director, Vij leads key company priorities including strategy development and execution, talent, innovation, learning & development, and sustainability. He chairs the India Executive Council and is also a member of Accenture’s Global Operations Council.

Vij has been with Accenture since 2006. In his most recent role, he was leading the Corporate Services & Sustainability practice for Accenture in India.

As India Market Unit Leader, Dutta serves as Accenture’s India business lead responsible for driving business and operations in the domestic market, focusing on growth, market differentiation, and clients.

Previously, Dutta was responsible for driving Accenture’s sales growth and strategic client relationships in India. In addition, he also led some of Accenture’s major ecosystem partnerships in India. Prior to that, he was the lead for the Resources group in India working with clients across utilities, energy, chemicals, and natural resources industries. He has been with the firm since 2008.
