PwC partners with Meta in India to build Generative AI solutions with Llama

PwC has announced a collaboration with Meta to expand and scale its open-source AI solutions to governments and businesses across India.
The collaboration will see PwC develop enterprise generative AI (GenAI) solutions by leveraging Meta’s technical expertise and its Llama platform. Now in its third edition, Llama is Meta’s own version of a large language model, competing with the likes of ChatGPT, Grok, and several others.
Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President and Head at Meta in India, said that Gen AI solutions, including Llama, are poised to revolutionise India’s businesses and accelerate the country’s digital transformation journey.
“By harnessing the power of natural language understanding and generation, Llama can unlock new efficiencies, enhance customer experiences, and drive data-driven decision-making. As India strives to become a leading digital economy, Gen AI will be instrumental in empowering businesses to innovate, scale, and compete on a global stage,” Devanathan said.
Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson of PwC in India, said the firm is delighted to be partnering with Meta. “With Llama, we see a unique opportunity to democratise generative AI technology across industries, and drive innovation while solving real-world challenges. Together, we aspire to create a more digitally enabled future for our clients and our communities – to create value and drive meaningful change at scale.”
Krishan added that firm’s work with Meta will build on PwC’s extensive experience in the generative AI space, including the work done in its GenAI Lab, which is dedicated to bringing new ideas and solutions leveraging GenAI to both PwC employees and clients.
The partnership comes at a time of growing interest in generative AI. All over the world, businesses and governments are exploring or even scaling-up the technology, with the aim to improve clients service, revamp operations, or speed up innovation.
In India, the government’s IndiaAI Mission has as its goal to build a robust AI ecosystem that will position the nation at the forefront of global developments in the AI landscape.
