Amit Makwana joins leadership team of Pierag Consulting

Indian professional services firm Pierag Consulting has appointed Amit Makwana as the Director of its Accounting Advisory Services practice.

One of its four main lines of business, the Accounting Advisory Services practice supports clients with financial advisory services rooted in accounting, with key offerings including compliance, financial reporting, audit readiness, as well as mergers & acquisitions and financial due diligence.

New senior hire Amit Makwana has been tasked with expanding the practice, leveraging his more than 17 years of experience in the field. His expertise encompasses technical accounting, operational support, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP standards.

Prior to joining Pierag Consulting, a homegrown consultancy with around 250 staff across five offices in India, Makwana held senior roles at counterparts in the US, including EY, PwC, CFGI, BDO, and The Siegfried Group. Most recently, he served as Senior Manager in the Accounting Advisory practice at CFGI, where he spearheaded projects in technical, operational and financial accounting for private and publicly traded companies.

His decade-long tenure at EY saw him rise from Senior Auditor to Senior Manager, overseeing audits for high-profile clients, including Fortune 500 companies, and leading audit teams in the Northeast. Makwana began his career at PwC, where he developed a strong foundation in auditing public companies. 

Throughout his career, Makwana has delivered projects across industries such as telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, and technology.
