TCS comes away from Great Employer Awards 2018 with eleven Stevies
Indian IT services giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has come away from the 2018 Great Employers Awards with an impressive eleven ‘Stevies.’ Five of these are Gold Stevies, while two are Silver Stevies and four are Bronze Stevies – all in recognition of the firm’s excellence in HR policy.
Established in 2002, the Stevie Awards are a dedicated platform for recognition of outstanding work in the domain of workforce management and human resources. Specifically, the awards commend a few crucial features of a firm’s workforce such, including its global reach and its internal diversity,
The awards also recognise the environment provided for a workforce, in how far it facilitates innovation, stimulation, flexibility, and a culture of high performance focused on results. Based on this wide variety of criteria, TCS has been recognised with Stevie Awards in as manay as eleven categories.
The firm has been working steadily towards modernising its workforce recently, including concerted efforts to enhance digital capabilities amongst its staff. In the last month, TCS announced that it would offer double the usual entry-level salary in India to 1,000 select candidates who demonstrate skills in the digital domain.
Overseas, TCS has rapidly gained recognition for its modern and flexible operations, particularly in the North American market. In the US, the firm’s employee-onboarding process is entirely digitalised, while the talent development process is centred entirely around the needs of the employee.
The firm has also gained credit for its overall work for society, particularly in the domain of education. TCS encourages its employees to participate in its collaborative activity with universities and other educational institutions, examples of which are the IEC3 Tech Camp organised with the University of Southern California and the Ignite Innovation Student Challenge organised with Discovery Education.
Commenting on the entries for this year’s Stevies, President & Founder of the Stevie Awards Michael Gallagher said, “The judges were very impressed with the quality of entries we received in the third annual Stevie Award for Great Employers. The dedication these Stevie-winning organisations have to providing great workplaces for employees was evident in each nomination.”
