Indian consulting firm RedSeer has agreed a partnership with one of the globe’s most prestigious strategy consulting firms – UK-headquartered OC&C Strategy Consultants.

“I’m thrilled to lead RedSeer into a new era with our strategic partnership with OC&C,” said Anil Kumar, Founder and CEO at RedSeer.

Kumar founded the consulting firm a decade ago, and has led growth to a 100+ team of partners and consultants operating from three offices in India (Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi), and further hubs in Asia – in Dubai and Singapore.

By working with OC&C, RedSeer will be able to tap into “some of the industry’s best thinking”, and enhance its ability to serve Indian clients on international mandates.

The two firms have a relatively similar portfolio of clients (focus on among others retail and consumer goods, online and e-commerce and private equity), positioning and culture, inciting James George, OC&C’s International Managing Partner, to call the joining of forces a “real meeting of the minds”.

A presence in India

For OC&C, the partnership provide it with a deeper presence in India’s consulting market. In the past, the firm worked with Avalon Consulting to serve the local market, but after Avalon Consulting joined Cordence Worldwide as a partner a few years ago, OC&C supported India-based market with fly-in teams and consultants from its Asia offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Now, “this partnership will allow us to provide on the ground and more rounded services to our clients in India, be it advising Indian brands on planning for international expansion or global businesses on penetrating the dynamic and rapidly growing Indian market,” said George.

The announcement comes at a time when international consultancies are showing growing interest in the Indian market. Not to much surprise, because India is on course to drive Asia’s economic growth up to 2050, and by then, India will be the world's 2nd largest economy trailing just Asian powerhouse China. This backdrop is seeing investment in India spike, with consulting firms at the forefront of helping companies and investment groups strategise, plan and execute their growth plans.

Nearly all of the established consulting firms have a presence in India, including McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Roland Berger and Strategy&. Similarly, the Big Four have relatively large management consulting arms in the country.

RedSeer is one of India’s larger home-grown strategy and management consulting firms. The consultancy is led by four partners – founder Anil Kumar, co-founder Kirti Saboo Bagaria (ex-McKinsey and The Parthenon Group), Sandeep Ganediwalla (ex-Strategy&) and Jasbir Juneja and three associate partners – Roshan Raj Behera, Pakhi Saxena and Abhishek Chauhan (ex-Bain & Company).

OC&C Strategy Consultants has over 600 consultants across twelve office globally. The firm was founded in 1987 by Geoff Cullinan and Chris Outram, the current Chairman of the firm.
