Mercer promotes Mettl boss Siddhartha Gupta to India country leader
Global HR consultancy Mercer has appointed Siddhartha Gupta as President of its India business.
The new country leader brings over two decades of experience in human resources consulting, digital transformation, technology and business development to the role.
Gupta has been with Mercer since 2018, when the company acquired Mettl, an Indian firm (then a start-up and now a scale-up) that specialises in talent measurement and online assessments. Since 2019, he has been leading Mercer Mettl as CEO.
In the role of President, Gupta leads Mercer’s team in the Indian market, and will join the leadership teams of parent Marsh McLennan in India and Mercer in the India, Middle East and Africa region.

Prior to Mercer, Gupta spent a decade at SAP, latterly as Vice President for Strategic Industries, and four years at Hewlett-Packard.
Globally, Mercer has more than 25,000 employees in 44 countries. India is a growing market for the consulting firm, as human resources emerges as a more important factor for companies seeking to retain and attract talent in a competitive space.
