Bain & Company names Shyam Unnikrishnan as managing partner for India
Global strategy consulting firm Bain & Company has named Shyam Unnikrishnan as managing partner for its India business.
In his new role, effective April 1, Shyam Unnikrishnan will be responsible for overseeing Bain & Company’s strategic direction, growth, people, and operations in India. The firm operates with three offices in the country, in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
Unnikrishnan brings nearly two decades of consulting experience to the role, all of which he gained at Bain & Company. He has worked across the firm’s offices in Sydney, Atlanta, and New Delhi and is currently based in Bengaluru.
Most recently, Unnikrishnan led Bain & Company’s Innovation & Design practice in Asia Pacific and is a leader in the Retail, Consumer Products, Strategy and Digital practices. He has extensive expertise in strategy, large-scale transformation, market entry, sales acceleration, customer experience enhancement, commercial due diligence, and merger integration.

Unnikrishnan will succeed Parijat Ghosh, who will move on to lead the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in the APAC region.
